How to Tie a Bead Head One Marabou Plume Fly

Place the bead on the hook and start your thread.

Measure from the top of the Maribou feather the length of the hook and tie in the feather as pictured.

Move the thread forward to the bead and then using the Maribou feather as dubbing, wrap towards the bead and thread.

Tie off the feather, trim any excess and build a head behind the bead. Whip finish and secure with head cement.

Versions can also be done in olive, white or chartreuse.

As you can see, it does catch fish. I used a chartreuse version of this fly while fishing the Guadalupe River in Texas.
