How to make a crayon art piece with an illustration

Place the crayons in a bowl filled with steaming water for 20 minutes. The water will easily remove the wrapper from the crayons.

Pour out the water and remove all the wrappers from the crayons.

Sort the crayons into colors you want on your canvas.

Using the hot glue gun, glue a straight line on the crayon and put into color coded groups on the canvas. Put the crayons at the top of the canvas forming a straight line.

Wait 10 minutes to assure the glue has dried and the crayons will not come off.

Tape a square on the canvas in the area you want to draw on at the end. This will prevent the melted crayon from getting on that area.

Hold the hair dryer close to the crayons and wait for them to start melting.

Once the crayons have started melting move the hair dryer in different motions to make the colors blend.

Once you are happy with the way your crayons have melted, then remove the tape you placed on the canvas.

In the area that is not covered in melted crayon you may draw an illustration using a black sharpie to create a more unique and personal art piece.
