How to make a quick pulao with left over rice


Use the left over rice. i had about 1 cup of rice, i added vegetables to increase the quantity and serve two people. Fluff the rice with a fork to avoid sticky rice.

Add vegetables of your choice. Here i sliced some mushrooms.

Peas.

Sliced carrots. You can add as many or as few veggies.

Chop half an onion.

Chop one chili. This Is optional, you can avoid, if you don't want it to be spicy.

Heat 2 tsp oil in a deep pan

Here are my spices. However i will only be using turmeric powder.

When the oil is hot, First add the mustard seeds, let them splutter.

Then add chopped onion and chillies and fry.

Fry till they start turning lightly golden.

Then add about 1/2 tap of turmeric powder.

Salt to taste. However add less salt, i filled a spoon but added very little of it, since we will be adding one chicken bullion next, and it is a little salty.

Add the chicken bullion or vegetable bullion, your choice.

Mix well till the bullion dissolves and mixes well.

Finally add the rice and vegetables and mix well.

This is how it looks when mixed.

Cover and cook on low flame for 10 mins. To allow the vegetables to cook.

The quantity has almost doubled and made a yummy dish with vegetables.

Serve with vegetable or meat of your choice. Enjoy !!
